Coldplay Cover The Pretenders ‘2000 Miles’ For Christmas On Official WebsiteColdplay have placed a cover of The Pretenders Christmas song 2000 Miles on their official website.

It was actually recorded in 2003, and you can hear the amateur, untrained nature of Chris Martin’s voice coming through very well.

The reason the band give for posting this cover?

Because they can’t ever manage to write their own Christmas song, without it sounding naff, even though they’ve attempted it a few times.

Arctic Monkeys - Teddy Picker | New Single and Video Review

The Arctic Monkeys are one of my favourite bands, and not just currently either, probably of all time.

They’d at least be in my top 10, which for a relatively new band less than five years formed, and with just two full studio albums to their name is quite an astounding achievement.

Last week, I told you about how the band had assumed a moniker under which to release a limited edition vinyl single. This week, they released their proper new single under their real name, and boy, is it a corker.

Teddy Picker is off their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare, and is one of the best tracks on the album in my opinion.

It has an incredibly fast pace to it, dragging you in to the meat of the song and beyond, making it one of those rare indie songs which you are as happy to dance to as you are singing along at home, or in the shower.
