There I was thinking Amy Winehouse had started to settle down a little bit when she goes mad once again. I thought the spells in hospital and time out of the limelight since taking a break from touring may have calmed her down but it seems not. And that’s even before she’s reunited with her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

The Mirror newspaper reports how Winehouse was on yet another bender in Camden when she started acting strangely. She screamed for Blakey, even though she knows he’s currently in rehab, and banged loudly on the door of her old flat just up the road from her new one.

Winehouse is said to have been completely out of it, which is unsurprising seeing as how she was carrying a liter bottle of vodka with her. She offered the vodka to passers-by and signed autographs on her way back to the flat she currently resides in.

Back To Black was a massive hit, propelling Amy Winehouse from perennial struggler known by a few people and their dogs in the UK to an international superstar whose name is known by almost everyone in the world. And now it’s time for her to produce a follow-up.

The problem is, this doesn’t exactly seem to be going very smoothly. In fact, friends of Winehouse are said to fear her third studio album may never actually happen, or at least not until she manages to kick her drink and drug habits completely.

The follow-up to Back To Black has seemed to be in question all year. At the end of March, it was claimed that friends who had heard some of Winehouse’s new tracks described them as “suicidal music”.

Then in April, the singer cancelled a booked recording session in the Bahamas to concentrate on writing and recording the new Bond theme. Hmm, well that worked then, as Jack White and Alicia Keys got the gig instead.

It was then reported that Winehouse’s record company had issued her with an ultimatum - get clean or lose your record deal. She still isn’t clean but still has her record deal, probably because Universal Music realise what a guaranteed payday Winehouse is when she’s on form (which is rare these days).

Amy Winehouse may have had a hit record with the song telling of her refusal to enter rehab but it seems she may have finally succumbed to the good advice. Russell Brand, due to present the MTV Video Music Awards in September, is said to have been the man behind the sudden change of heart.

According to The Sun, Winehouse has booked in to a rehab clinic just a short drive away from currently incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil. This will enable her to receive treatment for drink and drug addiction while still being able to pay visits to Blake in Highpoint Prison, near Newmarket.

The Focus 12 Clinic in Bury St Edmunds is where Winehouse is being treated after Brand recommended it. He beat his own demons there, thought to include sex addiction as well as drugs, before becoming hugely famous.

Throughout all of the troubles Amy Winehouse has had, and they’ve been plenty, I have always tried to see past the drugs, drink, and general wrongdoing in her private life because of the quality of her singing. Unfortunately, even my faith in that part of her life has now been shaken.

This weekend saw The V Festival taking place jointly in Chelmsford and Stafford. Unlike Glastonbury, V is very much a pop festival, and embraces a more diverse mix of artists - one of whom was Amy Winehouse, taking part in her penultimate gig before having an extended break from performing.

The problem was that Winehouse completely failed to live up to expectations. Not only was she late for one of the sets, a lateness that got her booed by the majority of the crowd, but her performance on stage also left a lot to be discovered. Is Amy Winehouse a singer? I have to ask because I very rarely get to actually write anything about her as a singer these days. Instead, the only reason she’s in the news is due to drinking, taking drugs, refusing to go to rehab, and punching fans.

And here’s another one of those stories. This time, she’s been accused of punching yet another fan, this time in a pub close to her home, and her neighbours are threatening to have her evicted from her house due to the constant partying, and mayhem her presence causes.

First of all we have the alleged punching incident, with salesman Wayne Lindsay claiming that Winehouse punched him three times in an unprovoked attack. Lindsay claims that he was sitting in the Dublin Castle pub in Camden when Winehouse turned towards him and hit him in the face repeatedly.

The Telegraph report him as saying:

“She was wild. She just flipped. It was as if she had voices in her head.”

“Amy stormed out immediately afterwards. I was really angry she thought she could get away with it. But I let it go. I’m not an aggressive person. Amy was in no fit state to put up a fight. She looked out of it. It as as if she was in another land. She looked really unwell and quite frail. She seems unable to control herself.”

However, a spokesperson for the singer claimed it was a case of mistaken identity, with the singer retaliating after she had her bum groped. But even if that is the case, you can’t just attack someone and expect to get away with it as Winehouse seems to have done.

Amy Winehouse managed to show up for two gigs in two days, and put on incredible performances at both the Nelson Mandela Birthday bash in London on Friday, and the Glastonbury Festival on Saturday. However, she put a black mark on her record by punching fan while performing Rehab, the last song of her set at Glastonbury.

Wiehouse’ performance was a huge success, with a crowd estimated to be around 80,000 turning out to watch her show. Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis suggested that this was the biggest crowd ever to watch an artist perform on the Pyramid Stage.

Everything was going fantastically well until during Rehab, Winehouse decided to leave the stage to go and mingle in amongst the front rows of the crowd. That is when the following happened, an incident which ensured her the Sunday newspaper headlines yet again.

Amy Winehouse took part in her first gig since coming out of rehab, apart from the live performances for the Grammy Awards, and the Brit Awards, over the weekend at the Rock In Rio festival in Portugal over the weekend. It didn’t go too well, but Winehouse has defended her appearance and denied the rumours that she fired her band which have since appeared in the tabloid press.

Her gig at the festival started badly, with her keeping the estimated 90,000 fans waiting for almost an hour before finally lumbering on stage. After the crowd started to express their displeasure by booing, she appeared and blamed a sore throat for the delay.

Even when she did finally get around to singing, she disappointed many expectant fans there with a poor performance. Her voice is said to have cracked repeatedly, and she kept stopping the show to talk to her band. She then cut short her show, and didn’t return for the obligatory (except for The Futureheads) encore.

Last month saw Pete Doherty sent to prison for 14 weeks for breaching a probation order revolving around his drug habit.

However, this morning just 29 days (or 4 weeks) in to his sentence, he was released from Wormwood Scrubs jail in London for good behaviour.

He then wasted no time in trying to get his faltering career back on track, by agreeing to now play the Glastonbury Festival set which it was thought he’d miss while in jail, and promising to reschedule the Royal Albert Hall gig he cancelled from April 26th.

What’s more, The Daily Mirror are reporting that keen to show solidarity with fellow druggie Amy Winehouse, and in an effort to stick two fingers up at society, he has asked the Rehab singer to duet with him at the rescheduled concert.

Winehouse herself nearly joined the former Libertine in prison after she was arrested on suspicion of assault. However, she was later released with no charges brought.

Have you been worried about Amy Winehouse lately? After reports that her new album is sounding decidedly dark, some people were fearing for her health and well-being.

Fortunately, there is new video footage of Amy doing the rounds which prove she’s fine, and actually looking better than she has done for a long while…

Okay, it’s now Amy, but rather La Pequeña, a Chilean tranvestite midget who has a penchant for mimicking the rich and the famous. She also does a funny yet disturbing Hilary Clinton!

It looks as though Amy Winehouse could be getting back to her worst, and back drinking and taking copious amounts of drugs, at least if you believe what her friends have reportedly told the newspapers.

It’s a mere eleven days since Winehouse left her enforced spell in rehab to perform via satellite at the Grammy Awards, where she won five accolades, and was the most successful artist on the night.

Since then, things looked to be going well, with a triumphant performance at the Brit Awards, where she not only performed her own set, but also duetted (if that’s the right word) with Mark Ronson on their joint cover of The Zutons Valerie.

The past few days have even seen talk of a fashion range being launched by Amy, including clothes and make-up which the singer has become known for wearing.

Unfortunately, it seems there is also a down side to all of this, and it looks as though Amy is getting back to her substance abusing worst.
