I have a love and hate relationship with Oasis. I love the music, or the bulk of it at least, but hate some of the attitude that comes from the band, with Liam Gallagher being the particular pain in the arse. Although, having said that, he seems to have been very quiet and subdued of late.

He could soon be back on his high horse, offending all and sundry, and being his usual surly self however, as the band prepare to release new album, Dig Out Your Soul. In advance of its October 7th release date, the full track listing, and cover artwork has been revealed.

I’m quite excited about the new album, as their last one, Don’t Believe The Truth, was a real return to form, and a brilliant album in its own right. Whether this, their seventh studio album, lives up to the last, or goes back to the relative failures of Be Here Now, and Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, remains to be seen.

Every Oasis album has had some stand out tracks though, and a few brilliant singles, so even if the album ends up being a critically-panned dud, we can at least look forward to a couple of hits.

Lily Allen has been getting some interesting press lately mainly from the tabloid press who have been covering her 2 week holiday in the south of France.

First there were paparazzi shots of her sunbathing and swimming topless, then reports of her being totally out of control in Cannes, and lastly speculation that she may be trying to get back together with ex boyfriend Ed Simons from The Chemical Brothers.

It’s very unlike Lily to take things lying down and not speak her mind so she has now chosen to answer the criticism and rumours flying about in a new blog post on her MySpace page.

She first defends her behaviour in the south of France claiming everything she did there was normal behaviour for her age.

“For the record I was not thrown off anybodys yacht in Cannes , occasionally I drink wine with lunch and yes i swim topless , this in my book is not embarrasing behaviour I’m 23 years old it’s not my fault if photographers follow me everywhere and need a story to print with their pointless pictures.”

She then wholly condemns the paparazzi who seem to spend their whole life trying to grab a snatch or boob shot of a celebrity, and likens them to members of a ultra right wing neo-nazi political party here in the UK.

Newspaper reports are claiming Lily Allen is currently being treated for depression in a London mental health clinic. Could this be the real reason behind her pulling out of the Isle Of Wight Festival?

Lily has had a bit of a tumultuous few months, suffering a miscarriage of her first baby, and then going through a very public, and messy break up with the father, and her boyfriend of the time, Ed Simons from British dance act The Chemical Brothers.

On top of all that, she has been busy making a new television programme for the BBC, and trying to finish writing and recording her new album, the eagerly anticipated follow up to her début, Alright, Still, which was released in 2006.

So it’s no wonder things may have got a bit on top of her, which The Sun describe as her “sinking into despair”.

It seems Lily Allen’s life is going from bad to worse. Just two weeks after losing her baby after suffering a miscarriage, Lily Allen has now split up from her boyfriend, Chemical Brother Ed Simons.

The couple looked to be a perfect match, and were headed for marriage and parenthood together, but constant arguments after the miscarriage seem to have torn the couple apart, and caused the end of their relationship.

The Sun newspaper, who broke the story, and a number of websites and blogs who have covered it since, have painted a gloomy picture of Simons dumping a distraught Allen, and leaving her to cope with the grief alone, but anyone who has been through a relationship ending knows there is probably more to it than that.

Damn, I hate giving bad news, but seeing as I covered the announcement that Lily Allen was pregnant back in December, I feel I need to follow up on the story.

Unfortunately, it was announced today that Lily has suffered a miscarriage, and lost the baby. The British singer, and her boyfriend Ed Simons, he of dance giants Chemical Brothers, are said to be devastated.

When the couple announced the pregnancy, they asked for privacy, and I think the media did manage to give them that. Unfortunately, now that they have lost the baby, everyone, including me, is reporting the story, and probably stepping over a line of privacy at the worst time possible.

Lily Allen, that hard rocking, mockney, hard drinking, chain smoking pop star, is expecting a baby with Chemical Brother (I’m so glad it’s singular) Ed Simons.

She announced the happy news on Tuesday, which gave the press ample opportunity to dredge up month old pictures of her enjoying a crafty cigarette, and claiming she’s an irresponsible mother to be.

No morons, actually she has quit smoking, as every right thinking pregnant woman would do, and those photos were taken before she, or anyone else, knew she was with child.
