The Beatles Still Not On iTunes – Apple and EMI Talking
September 10, 2009 by Dave Parrack
One of the biggest injustices in the British music scene right now is that The Beatles back catalog isn’t available to download or stream from legal sources. There are other bands who have also insisted their music remains exclusive to physical formats but The Beatles are the biggest name to have insisted on it.
It’s been rumored that The Beatles would be coming to iTunes soon for the last two years or so, ever since Apple (makers of the Mac and iPhone) and Apple Corps. (the company set up by The Beatles in the 1960s) settled a legal dispute over their …read more
The Beatles Are Back – Remasters & Rock Band Game
September 4, 2009 by Dave Parrack
The Beatles remain as the best British band of all time and in my opinion the best band in the world ever. Not bad going when you consider they split up forty years ago and only two of the four members are still with us.
In 1964, The Beatles led what was to become known as the British invasion on the American music scene. And it looks like they are about to do the same once again with not only all their studio albums being re-released in a new remastered format but the release of The Beatles: Rock Band video game.
Beatles Fans Celebrate 40th Anniversary Of Abbey Road
August 10, 2009 by Dave Parrack
This past weekend saw the 40th anniversary of the day the classic cover of The Beatles’ Abbey Road album was shot. The occasion was commemorated by hundreds of fans who converged on the zebra crossing in order to recreate the famous pose and pay their respects to the greatest band the world has ever seen.
Rather unsurprisingly, the zebra crossing is located next to the Abbey Road studios in north London where The Beatles recorded the LP which would end up being their penultimate album. It’s a very ordinary street in a very ordinary part of London, but its place in …read more
Keane Concert Becomes First Domestic 3D Broadcast In The UK Thanks To Sky TV
April 4, 2009 by Dave Parrack
Keane may not be the band they once were (maybe Tom Chaplin should get back on the sauce) but they have just made history. Their gig at the Abbey Road Studios on Thursday evening became the first event to be broadcast domestically in 3D.
3D has been with us for years – who can forget going to watch a movie and having to wear those stupid cardboard glasses – but it’s only now starting to be done properly. Many movies are now being made in 3D and the technology is on its way to television.
Sky is a British-based satellite television service …read more
It Was 40 Years Ago Today… That The Beatles Played On Top Of Apple Building
January 30, 2009 by Dave Parrack
40 years ago today, the four members of The Beatles, plus guest keyboardist Billy Preston, played a concert on the roof of the Apple building in Saville Row, London. Although it was cut short, it’s still regarded as a momentous moment in music history.
By this time in their career, The Beatles weren’t getting on, with tensions producing some of the band’s best music in the studio, but putting paid to the notion of performing in public. This therefore ended up being the last gig the four played in public together.
The gig on the roof is now an iconic moment, but …read more
Oasis’ New Album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ Track Listing & Artwork – ‘Falling Down’ Leaked
July 14, 2008 by Dave Parrack
I have a love and hate relationship with Oasis. I love the music, or the bulk of it at least, but hate some of the attitude that comes from the band, with Liam Gallagher being the particular pain in the arse. Although, having said that, he seems to have been very quiet and subdued of late.
He could soon be back on his high horse, offending all and sundry, and being his usual surly self however, as the band prepare to release new album, Dig Out Your Soul. In advance of its October 7th release date, the full track listing, and …read more

Oasis are apprently heading in to the studio next week to start recording their seventh studio album.
After completing some initial work on the album six weeks ago, they are now due to start recording properly in London’s Abbey Road studio.
Noel Gallagher told BBC 6 Music:
“We start in Abbey Road a week on Monday. Then we’ll probably work through a couple of months there, have Christmas off, then go and mix it and see where we’re at.”
The Manchester based Britpop band have quite an album to live up to, as last release ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ was their best …read more
