Spice Girls Reunion Tour Kicks Off In Style

The Spice Girls finally kicked off their reunion tour in Canada on Sunday, and reports suggest it all seemed to go very smoothly.
I thought they’d be a bit rusty on this first outing as a five piece in 10 years, but in fact the only thing that looked likely to rust were the metallic outfits made for them by Italian designer Roberto Cavalli.
Before the gig, Mel C dismissed the rumours of in fighting and arguments amongst the girls:
“You know what, so much time has passed, so much water has gone under the bridge, it’s just great to all be back together.”
“I don’t think we ever thought it was the four of us and Geri,” she said. “Us coming back together has been five individuals coming back together.”
Victoria Beckham had a nice surprise, when husband David flew in from New Zealand, where his soccer team L.A. Galaxy are currently on tour.
He apparently gave each member of the group a special bracelet to mark their return, although speculation (which I have just invented) that it signified he’d bedded them all, was probably false.
They opened with their signature song, ‘Spice Up Your Life’, followed by ‘Stop’ and ‘Say You’ll Be There’, and it actually looks like they sung live, unlike their terrible performance last month for Children In Need.
If the rest of the tour can continue to run as smoothly as this first seemed to go, then maybe it won’t be the disaster some are predicting.
That is assuming of course, that being on the road for months, and living in each others pockets, doesn’t result in the arguments and squabbles resurfacing that killed the group in the first place.
