Muse To Replace White Stripes On US Tour
September 13, 2007 by Dave Parrack
The White Stripes have announced that the rest of their US tour has been cancelled, due to Meg White suffering from acute anxiety. I personally don’t think Meg has a cute anything, but that’s another matter entirely.
Now Muse have announced that they will be taking the slots given up by the White Stripes at two of the venues.
The White Stripes have scrapped 18 dates all across America where they were meant to be playing up until October 10th. This has been done because Meg’s anxiety means she cannot currently travel.
I feel sorry for Meg over this because I’ve suffered from similar symptoms in the past, and I don’t think I could have handled playing gig after gig after gig.
But the good news for British music fans (which I’m guessing you are if you’re reading this blog) is Muse will now be playing at two of the venues. Muse will play on Saturday (September 15) at the Austin City Limits festival and Sunday (September 16) show at the city’s Stubbs Bar-B-Q.
I urge any White Stripes fans to go and check out Muse instead, as they will blow you away live. They’re not the same as The White Stripes obviously, but they put on a cracking show, and you won’t be disappointed.
To give you a taster, here is their video for ‘Hysteria’. Enjoy…
