Morrissey Makes Live Return, Mocks Health Problems

Last Saturday, Morrissey collapsed on stage in Swindon at the start of a gig on his latest tour. He was rushed to hospital after singing just one song during which he struggled to breathe and looked generally unfit and unwell.

But nothing, it seems, can keep Morrissey down. Three days later and he performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall, managed to complete his full set, and even felt able to joke about his collapse and health problems.

According to NME, Morrissey received a rapturous welcome as he emerged on stage, and sang This Charming Man after telling the crowd, “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”

During How Soon Is Now, Morrissey lay on the ground for a few minutes before getting up and saying, “Thank you, Swindon.” He also told the crowd, “The doctor said I shouldn’t smile. I told him I don’t.”

Morrissey only ended up canceling one gig (in Bournemouth on Monday) but it now looks as though he aims to complete his tour which has two weeks left to run. It’s great news but it still leaves fans wondering what the episode in Swindon was all about. Will Morrissey ever come clean on what happened?
