Lily Allen - Don’t Get Me Wrong Pretenders Cover | To Celebrate Radio 1 40th Birthday

October 4, 2007 by Dave Parrack

I’m kind of in love with Lily Allen. Not as much as Kate Nash, but still quite a lot, in a non-stalky threatening way. I think it may be her third nipple, or maybe just the fact that she’s a kick ass British singer with a great voice and attitude to boot.

She recently covered ‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’ by The Pretenders for Radio 1’s 40th anniversary and this is the outcome. I know the video isn’t much cop, it was radio after all, but the combination of the picture of Lily, and this fun cover make it worth a watch…

I was a fan of the original but this version kicks even more bum than that. I don’t know if its the Cockney accent or just the fact that the tune has been brought right bang up to date, but it works.

Carry on flying the flag Lily.
