Led Zeppelin Reunion Concert | Full Details On Charity Event & How To Get Tickets

September 12, 2007 by Dave Parrack

Robert Plant LiveLed Zeppelin will be reforming for a one off gig at the London 02 Arena in London on November 26th. It’s definite, it’s been confirmed, and all the details of the concert are now solid.

Led Zeppelin will be the headline act at the gig, with a diverse range of performers including Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman And The Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.

The one off show will raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund. This fund was created in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun who died last year, and helps pay for university scholarships in the UK, US and Turkey.

Now here’s the biggie, details on ticket prices and how to get hold of them:-

Tickets for the show will cost a whopping £125 each and they are limited to two per person.

They will be assigned and distributed by ballot only so if you want in, you must register on Ahmettribute.com which every time I’ve tried to reach has been down.

It’s also been confirmed that Led Zeppelin will feature original members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, while Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, will play drums.

Led Zeppelin One Off Gig

So there we have it, the deal is signed and sealed, the truth is out, and Led Zeppelin are getting back together (albeit temporarily) to play live once more. But, the tickets costing £125 each is a shocker, and really puts the gig out of mine, and I’m sure many others price range.

As much as I’d like to see Led Zeppelin, I’m not willing to pay an amount which could get me a weekend camping and seeing about 50 bands at Glastonbury next year. Sorry guys but I won’t be one of the people registering for the luck of the draw ticket allocation.

The ballot thing on the other hand is quite good, as it stops touts and eBay sellers snatching up all the tickets in advance to sell on at an even more extortionate rate.

I’m glad they’re back, I’m not so glad that it looks like my chance of going to the gig are now slim to none. Maybe next time! Oh hang on, damn :(

What do you think? Are you glad they’re back? Do you want tickets? If so, does the price put you off? I’d love to hear your comments.

The website crashed right away, just after ticket sales of the 18,000 tickets opened, just over an hour ago.

  2. Elisa says:

I’d love to go…but I just can’t afford the price.
    Le sigh.

  3. DaveP says:

That makes 2 of us Elisa… I’m not happy :(

  4. Richard says:

Well… do you dare to wait anothern 19 years… I,m swedish and also have the problem that at this date Ï am in Thailand.. just have to work some overtime and hopefully after that can afford all the money this will cost..:-)

  5. Natasha says:

I would pay whatever price I had to in order to see Zeppelin. Unfortunately my problem is that I live in the U.S. I wish they would come here as well!

  6. Deborah says:

Yes, it’s expensive but come on, it’s LED ZEPPELIN!!!! I’m not well off but I think for such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity it would definitely be worth it. I’ve been fortunate to see Page and Plant perform twice plus Robert Plant solo gig last summer. All 3 concerts were incredible. I’ve managed to enter the ballot. Fingers crossed (and god be with my credit card!).

  7. olesja says:

I can’t believe the tickets are so expensive…i’ve been waiting for this gig so long…..:(:(:(:( but now i cant afford it….damn!

  8. garry says:

I am in Australia, I’d go, I’d pay the price (the airline ticket will cost 10 times that). You guys are exposed to great music all the time and perhaps take it for granted. Wish I had the opportunity to say yes…. if you go enjoy it for the rest of us who will get it on DVD in 3 years!

  9. Julie Boton says:

Well, it would be nice to think this will stop scammers, but what stops the ticket reseller thugs from simply registering under many different names and addresses? It doesn’t sound like a sure thing for fairness to me. I just registered (I think) and hope for the best. This is a present for me for a BIG birthday if it happens…

  10. Jason Mack says:

Duplicate addresses (and perhaps email addresses and phone numbers?) will all be removed. I think its really fair the way they did it, and the price isn’t that bad if you consider the facts that real fans would be paying at least the price+, after all the dealers scooped up all the tickets, and its for charity. I’d pay the price for a pair of tickets and airfare from the Northwest US in a heartbeat. I’d pay twice the price for maybe my only chance to see Zeppelin in my life.

  11. Phill Schmidt says:

I am, if lucky enough to get a ballot will fly to London from Maui in a freakin heartbeat.

    Aloha Phill Zeppelin

  12. Cristian Constantinescu says:

Dudes, I have seen Led Zeppelin live in Bucharest in 1998, Robert Plant, Jimmie Page and Bonham Jr.
So the story that they never played together for 30 years is PR bullshit. I am a huge fan, I would pay the money, it’s just that they are so huge i don’t understand why they had to go through this PR stunt and why it is not happening in a place like wembley where more people can come.
This restriction acts like a teaser to make people talk.
I think you will see more and bigger LedZep concerts in the futures.
Moi, I have seen one already, my dream has come true.

    rock’n'roll

  13. jc goetz says:

you people are nuts if that is too expensive, it costs more than that to see the Stones and they suck now. I’m gonna wind up spending at least $5000 US on this trip. Real zeppelin fans wouldnt let an extra 100 bucks keep them from this concert. I’m not rich at all! I would spend my life savings if I had too!!

  14. Papa Zack says:

I already booked a flight from Chciago to London - nonrefundable. I will get in to that show!! Of course, I have about 1 in 20 million odds of getting a ticket, but who cares.

  15. Mary Kay says:

i live in the US. i will go if i can get a ticket. don’t care about the price so much, just care that i love LZ!!! XOXO :)

  16. JP says:

It ain’t that expensive if you are a really love Led Zeppelin! I couldn’t book and I am still looking to get a ticket. I live in guatemala and wouldn’t hesitate to fly over to London to see the concert! I am to young to ever had been able see them in concert, but i guess the debt would be 1M times worth it! cheers to all of you who got tickets.

  17. gaby says:

I am not that big of a fan of LedZed. My girlfriend is, and she would die for some tickets. I am sad to see I might not fulfill her whish. I am also disappointed at her for encouraging a dying band of making a quick buck with this fuss about their contest. Who do they think they are? Charity cause…please do not insult my intelligence!! Even the pope gives more than one last presentation. I’ll stick to U2, and bands that respect their fans and remember who they owe their lifetime of fame and drug abuse too.

  18. Deborah Murphy says:

    gaby,
They’re not “making a quick buck”. All the proceeds from the gig will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund. They owe “their lifetime of fame” to their immense talent and hard work and they’d have done many many more gigs had their drummer not died! It’s not like they just packed it in. We’re all entitled to our opinion though but I’m with your girlfriend on this!

  19. jc goetz says:

first off, that dudes name is gaby! thats a girls name. probably a big reason why he doesnt get Led! if it wasnt for Zeppelin your faggot u2 bands wouldnt have a stage to play on in front of their owed fans!

  20. ted says:

gaby is an ass first off the are not doing it for the money the money goes to foundation for education, Zeppelin does not need the money. And I think your girl should leave you. I would pay the money and enjoy the trip.

  21. ted says:

And for the guy who says he is a zeppelin fan that would not pay the money but would rather go camping is not a zeppelin fan. A true zeppelin fan would pay any thing. Zeppelin is forever and rules.

  22. Angie says:

It,s been done all unfair some of the people who have won the Ballot arn/t even thinking of going there are just trying to make big money now on Ebay, it/s sad because the real Zeppelin Fans miss out on this Gig . all of you if you have a Ticket enjoe the Show, i just wished i had a Ticket for my Husband .

  23. Zubair Kazmi says:

I got the tickets! and I’ll be going from Pakistan. I think they’ve done a decent job with trying to cut down the scalpers/eBay people. Tickets have to be bought within 48 hours and tickets have to be picked up from the box office the day before or day of the concert with the credit card used to buy the ticket as well as a picture ID. So the earliest anyone can get the ticket on eBay will be the afternoon of the 25th or scalp it on the street. If you don’t buy your ticket by then, it’s given to the next person who’s name came up in the ballot.

  24. luke fisher says:

    Led Zeppelin?
They had better work on their show. Pete Townshend’s opening act is likely to blow them off the stage.

I have not yet seen my email response published on your web page dealing with Zed Leppelin.
    Has it been overlooked?
The message was about the coming show and its opening act.

  28. jeff says:

The Moyer Foundation is offering tickets and hotel for the concert in their charity auction live and online this Saturday at Bidspotter.com. This is a fundraiser for a camp for bereaved children. Very worthy organization with a big heart to whom someone has donated their tickets to sell.

  29. Liz says:

I’d fly from the States and pay more than that for a ticket. I’m crushed that I found out too late to even enter the drawing.
If anyone gets tickets and can’t find a home for them (yeah, right), I’ll take ‘em!:)
Crossing my fingers that they tour again…

  30. monty cawker says:

it’s postponed til dec. 1o due to broken finger - will it be live on the web?
    please advise,
    thanks, monty

  31. VINCE WISE says:

I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE ZEPPELIN BUT NOT AT £125 I AINT.I RECENTLY SAW X2 SEX PISTOLS SHOWS, £37.50 AND THEY WERE BRILLIANT!!!
AS AN OLD PUNK THE OLD DINOSAURS LIKE ZEPPELIN ARE STILL “OUT OF TOUCH”.
ITLL BE A GIG FULL OF THE “RICH AND FAMOUS” AND NOTHING FOR THE WORKING-CLASSES.
WHAT ABOUT THE TRUE BRITISH WORKING-CLASS FANS WHO BOUGHT THEIR RECORDS? THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT ON A SERIES OF SHOWS FOR THE BRITISH GENERAL PUBLIC ONLY!
IM VERY SAD THAT ZEPPELLIN ARE STILL SWAYED BY THE BIG “MONEY” CONCERNS…ILL WAIT TILL 2008 AND GO AND SEE THE PISTOLS AGAIN, AT LEAST WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET.
STILL HOPE THE ZEP GIG GOES OK!
    BRITISH MUSIC FAN.

  32. CURRAN OHARA says:

HEY now, why does it always come down to money? f*ck me but that gets so old so fast, who gives a shit how much it costs, its a privilege to be going, and if the cost means all those fuckers who think being cool is all about being too tight to go to the bar will stay at home then im glad i sold my cock and balls for my ticket, the gig will be better for it

  33. mike james says:

    zeppelin rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. i got the email about reunion tickets, but had to give it up as i am 10,000 miles away from the venue! I watch the videos on uTube. it was great!
