Has Elton John Made His Last Album? | British Singer Too Busy With Other Projects

Elton John has been a stalwart in the British music industry for 40 years, and is now regarded as one of the greats.
He’s never stopped working either, releasing an album as recently as 2006. However, that could be his last, as he has warned he may not make another album.
The Captain & The Kid which John released just two years ago may now turn out to be his last album ever, as in an interview with BBC6 Music, he described how due to being so busy with other projects, he may never make another album again. He told the digital radio station:
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to make another record again at the moment. I have no plans to do another album as such.”
“I am so busy touring and doing shows and promoting musicals and producing films – I would like to make another record but I don’t know when or where or if I am gonna make one.”
We’ve already heard how Phil Collins has retired from music, and won’t be releasing any new material, and now we could be looking at the second hugely successful British musician to stop working in as many weeks.
However, even if Elton John does indeed stop making any new material, as he says, he is busy working on many other things to keep him busy. As well as the above projects, he is rumoured to have recently performed at Sir Alan Sugar’s Ruby wedding anniversary.
There are a couple of possible explanations for this decision by Elton John. It could be pure crap, as he’s known for speaking before he thinks. In which case we can expect him to announce a new album within a few weeks or not, and Elton labelled the master of publicity.
OR, he could have seen the writing on the wall for the old business model in the music industry. With more artists experimenting with digital downloads and distribution methods, Elton could have realised that releasing an album worth of new material every 2-3 years just isn’t going to cut it any more – especially with his lavishly expensive tastes.

if this is indeed true I will be very sorry. Elton new recordings have always been something to look forward to like spring, christmas and birthdays. sad sad sad
