Morrissey Splits With Management, Along With Label
January 8, 2010 by Dave Parrack
Morrissey seems to be having something of a midlife crisis at the moment. Last year saw him leave his record label, experience health problems, and walk offstage mid-gig. And has begun in a similar fashion, with him announcing he has split with his management.
Morrissey left Universal in 2009, and still hasn’t signed for another record label. And now, he also has no management team looking after him and his affairs.
The former Smiths front man announced the split in a statement on True-To-You, a Morrissey fanzine. It read:
“Following consultation with my lawyers, I wish it to be known that I have …read more
Morrissey Makes Live Return, Mocks Health Problems
October 28, 2009 by Dave Parrack
Last Saturday, Morrissey collapsed on stage in Swindon at the start of a gig on his latest tour. He was rushed to hospital after singing just one song during which he struggled to breathe and looked generally unfit and unwell.
But nothing, it seems, can keep Morrissey down. Three days later and he performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall, managed to complete his full set, and even felt able to joke about his collapse and health problems.

Morrissey has had a tumultuous year thanks to an unspecified illness which has seen him cancel several concerts and television appearances. And tonight saw him collapse on stage and rushed to hospital unconscious.
The former Smiths front man was gigging at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon when he suddenly collapsed on stage. He had only been on stage a matter of minutes and was in the middle of opening set song, This Charming Man.

The Smiths Reunion Finally Happening?
October 25, 2008 by Dave Parrack
The Smiths were, without a doubt, one of the most influential bands to emerge from Britain in the past 30 years. They were at the forefront of the Manchester scene, the alternative scene, and the independent scene, all of which have continued without them since they split up in 1987.
Fast forward twenty years to the present day and the band have turned down several offers to reform for one-off gigs, which they would have been paid a fortune to play. But now, according to a report in The Sun, The Smiths reunion could finally be about to happen, with a …read more
Morrissey Receives Apology For Being Labelled A Racist – But Not From The NME
April 3, 2008 by Dave Parrack
NME magazine published an interview with Morrissey at the end of last year where, amongst other things, he spoke about immigration. The comments he made seemed to be verging on racist, or condoning racism, but Morrissey insisted that they had been taken out of context and edited to show him in a bad light.
Tim Jonze, the journalist that conducted the interview, seemed to back up Morrissey’s claims of misrepresentation when he requested that his credit for the piece were removed from the article due to it being re-worked by the editorial team.
Morrissey threatened and then started legal action against the …read more

October 23, 2007 by Dave Parrack
Johnny Marr, former Smiths guitarist has spoken about the possibility of The Smiths possibly reforming in the future.
Marr, who was recently appointed as a professor of music at the University of Salford, has said that he’s very open to the possibility of the British Eighties super group reforming.
He told BBC Five Live:
“Stranger things have happened so, you know, who knows?”
“It’s no biggy. Maybe we will in 10 or 15 years’ time when we all need to for whatever reasons, but right now Morrissey is doing his thing and I’m doing mine, so that’s the answer really.”
Marr now plays with …read more
Morrissey Previews New Track ‘All You Need Is Me’ On Carson Daly – Now On YouTube
October 16, 2007 by Dave Parrack
Morrissey premièred new track ‘All You Need Is Me’ on American chat show ‘Last Call With Carson Daly’ on October 10. Now it’s appeared on YouTube for everyone to see and hear.
The Glam rock inspired track sees Morrissey at his most rockiest for years, with a hard beat underneath his unique full bodied singing voice.
Morrissey fans should lap up the new track, and even those of us who aren’t too keen on his solo stuff can enjoy this performance. I personally would rather see him return to his Smiths days, but hey, I’m old skool.
