Perez Hilton Fights Yet Again – Mark Ronson On Twitter
June 23, 2009 by Dave Parrack
I was under the illusion that Perez Hilton was an ultra-snarky celebrity blogger who spent his days writing up embarrassing gossip and tittle-tattle about anyone famous. Except, of course, his celebrity friends such as Lady GaGa who he’ll always be nice about, no matter how big a fashion mistake they may make or crap record they may release.
But it seems I was wrong. In actual fact, Perez Hilton is now a celebrity in his own right and spends his day partying, presenting awards at shows, or arguing with other celebrities. You’ll no doubt be aware that Perez is claiming he …read more
Mark Ronson Rescues Amy Winehouse’s New Album After Label Rejects Demos
March 28, 2009 by Dave Parrack
Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse were, at one point, a kind of musical dream team. Ronson produced Winehouse’ ultra-successful Back To Black album, which made her a superstar the world over, and in return, Winehouse provided the vocals for Ronson’s Version version of The Zutons’ Valerie.
And then their relationship soured while the pair were working on a theme for the latest James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace. At the time, Ronson claimed that Winehouse wasn’t “ready to work on music yet.” The pair fell out and haven’t worked together since.
Circumstances look to have thrown the pair back together, with the …read more
Mark Ronson Owns Noel Gallagher | Super-Producer Pens Comeback To Oasis Man
August 17, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Mark Ronson is a confident (some would say cocky) young man who doesn’t suffer fools gladly. He’s a super-producer who has not only been one of the main reasons for Amy Winehouse‘ worldwide success but has also released his own album full of cleverly re imagined covers.
So the man knows his stuff, which is why it’s no surprise to see that he is the first person to have reacted to Noel Gallagher’s drunken rant about various musicians and artists the other day. In fact, rather than just defend himself, Ronson went on the attack, and owned Gallagher.
Speaking to Radio One, …read more
Oasis’ Noel Gallagher Takes Pop At Winehouse, Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs & More
August 16, 2008 by Dave Parrack
I’m sure I’m living in some kind of time bubble as I keep experiencing deja vu, again, and again, and again. Just yesterday I reported how Amy Winehouse had hit one of her fans, yes, another one. And now Noel Gallagher has taken a pop at some of his fellow British artists. Didn’t he do that last week, and the week before?
The older Gallagher was being interviewed on BBC Radio One, and was reportedly in a state of drunkenness, when he decided to go to town on a whole host of British singers and groups. This comes just a few …read more
James Bond Bosses Dithering Over Amy Winehouse Theme Tune – Beyoncé Instead?
May 25, 2008 by Dave Parrack
I’ve been avoiding talking about Amy Winehouse and her efforts to become the next Bond girl, well singer of the theme tune at least, mainly because it was just speculation and I wanted to wait until the official announcement was made.
But this isn’t that, instead it’s more rumour, speculation and gossip about it all… I just couldn’t resist.
It’s been known for a while that bosses of the latest Bond film, Quantum of Solace have been looking at Winehouse as a possible candidate for the theme tune. First it was on, then off (with the studio heads probably concerned about …read more
Has Amy Winehouse Split With Her Blake?
April 19, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil seemed inseparable, sharing everything together, probably including needles and crack pipes, but the days of Winehouse devoting songs to “her Blake” may well be over.
It seems that far from being “her Blake”, Amy Winehouse may have decided she’s better off without the currently incarcerated Fiedler-Civil, and be planning to ditch him – if she hasn’t already.
Speculation is mounting over the state of the pair’s relationship due to the fact that Winehouse has stopped visiting Blake in Pentonville prison, where he is currently awaiting trial on charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of …read more
Amy Winehouse’s New Album Described As “Suicidal Music” | Fears For Mental Health
March 31, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Amy Winehouse is currently writing her new album with friend and producer Mark Ronson. The songs will make up the bulk of her as yet untitled third LP release. And if you thought Back To Black was introspective and depressing, it seems you haven’t seen (or rather heard) anything yet.
The Sun is reporting that Winehouse has played some of the new tracks to her friends, and as impressive as they were, it also left them fearing for her mental state.
Since contracting a skin disease, thought to be Impetigo, and being photographed with ugly scabs on her face, Winehouse is thought …read more
Amy Winehouse At The Brits 2008 – Valerie With Mark Ronson, Love Is A Losing Game
February 21, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Amy Winehouse made another successful appearance at an awards ceremony last night, this time at the Brits 2008 held in London.
Although she didn’t win anything, she did perform twice on stage, once to sing Valerie with Mark Ronson, and once in her own right, singing Love Is A Losing Game for her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
Here is a bit of a video compilation of her night at the Brits, an event which I live blogged here on Brit Music Scene.

Brit Awards 2008 – Part 2 – Kylie Minogue, Kanye West, Beth Ditto, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs
February 20, 2008 by Dave Parrack
8.30pm – Kylie comes on and performs new single Wow! She looks as good as ever, and this year sports a blonde wig. Her dancers look like they are Daft Punk wannabees.
8.33pm – Fearne Cotton chats to Adele and Mika backstage, though the whole section is just an excuse to make money by begging us all to vote for the Best Single of the year.
I, obviously, refuse to bow to Fearne’s obvious charms.
8.39pm – Kelly Rowland arrives on stage to present the award for Best International Male artist.
Nominations – Bruce Springsteen, Rufus Wainwright, Timbaland, Michael Buble, Kanye West. And the …read more
Mark Ronson Could Lose Girlfriend Due To His Close Ties With Junkie Amy Winehouse
January 26, 2008 by Dave Parrack
It seems that Amy Winehouse is definitely past being damaged goods, and has entered the realms of “DON’T TOUCH THAT WOMAN WITH A BARGEPOLE!”
Mark Ronson, the producer of Back To Black, as well as the man behind Version, which included an Amy Winehouse cover of Valerie by The Zutons, is now at risk of losing his girlfriend because her family don’t like his ties with such a train wreck as Winehouse.
His links to the Rehab singer, has upset the parents of his girlfriend Cosi Theodoli-Braschi, and that may just be enough to finish the relationship off entirely.
A friend of the …read more
