New Kate Nash Album Announced – Plus Free Download
February 13, 2010 by Dave Parrack
I was a huge fan of Kate Nash’s first album, Made Of Bricks, and have been eagerly awaiting her second album ever since. Thankfully, the wait is almost over. Nash has revealed the tracklisting and release date of the as-yet-untitled LP and even thrown in a free download.
Although the album hasn’t yet got a name, it will be released on April 19, almost a full two years after the release of her debut. I guess that’s what having a celebrity boyfriend (Ryan Jarman from The Cribs) does to you and your sense of timing.
The tracklisting, according to NME, is:

The British Music Experience Review – O2 Music Exhibition
January 19, 2010 by Dave Parrack
British music has been widely recognized and loved around the world since the early 1950s. And sixty years on, each successive decade has proved to be a beast of its own, unique making. The British Music Experience charts these six decades of music in an interactive and entertaining way.
The British Music Experience is a permanent exhibition at the O2 in London. It has made a home in the O2 Bubble, just one small part of the huge complex formerly known as the Millennium Dome, which now has the O2 Arena at its heart.
The British Music Experience opened in March 2009, …read more
New Kate Nash Album Finshed And Out In Months
January 14, 2010 by Dave Parrack
Kate Nash is beautiful, talented, and a breath of fresh air in the British music scene. And she’s months away from releasing her second album, the follow-up to 2007’s Made Of Bricks. Can the as-yet-untitled album possibly live up to the promise of her debut?
I stand to either be very disappointed by Nash’s new album or ecstatically happy with it. If it’s as good or better than Made Of Bricks then it’ll be the latter, but if it sucks, with no stand out tracks and a loss of the kookiness present on the first album, it’ll be the former.
Kate Nash’ New Album Equals New Direction
March 16, 2009 by Dave Parrack
Kate Nash felt like a breath of fresh air when she burst onto the scene in 2007. She first released Caroline’s a Victim/Birds on a limited release run. This then lead to a new record deal which saw Foundations hit big. Then came the album.
I adored Kate Nash’ debut album, Made Of Bricks. It was fresh, innovative, and exciting. Nash has been out of the news for a while now, but she hasn’t been resting, instead working on her second album.
In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Nash explained what she’s been up to, how the new material is coming along, …read more

May 22, 2008 by Dave Parrack
The Ivor Novello Awards 2008 results are in, with a star studded ceremony held in London tonight. The best of British as well as some American artists have been rewarded and recognised for their song writing talents at the annual celebration of all that is good in music.
This time last month, I highlighted the nominees, which included Brit Music Scene favourites Amy Winehouse, and Take That, both of whom were successful on the night.
Amy Winehouse, nominated for three awards won the big one, with Love Is A Losing Game named as the best song musically and lyrically. Her father Mitch …read more
Ivor Novello Songwriting Awards 2008 – Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Klaxons Nominated
April 21, 2008 by Dave Parrack
The Ivor Novello Awards are an annual celebration of the best displays of song writing over the past twelve months. It’s British biased, but also highlights songs from abroad which sold particularly well.
This year’s nominations have been revealed, and there is one woman head and shoulders above the rest. Amy Winehouse has managed to secure three nominations, two of which are in one category. All despite Back To Black, the album that the songs come from, having been out for over two years.
Winehouse has Love is A Losing Game and You Know I’m No Good both up for best song …read more
Soundtrack For A Day – April 13th 2008 – Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Kooks & More
April 14, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Some of the bloggers here on the b5 music channel decided to record our Soundtrack For A Day yesterday. This could take different forms, be it all the songs you listened to on that day, a selection from certain moments, or a particular album.
I decided to stick my media player on random and note down the first 50 songs it played, and here is the result.
As a full time blogger who works from home, music is very important to me as it can change the mood of my day. Pressing the random button is therefore a bit of a gamble …read more
My Favourite Live UK Gigs Of Recent Years
March 24, 2008 by Dave Parrack
A few of us here on the b5 music channel have decided to get together and talk about our favourite gigs. I’ve been to far too many to list them all, so instead, I’ll focus on my experiences of the last year.
I have quite a broad taste in music, loving everything from Bjork and Joanna Newsome, through the Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party, up to Megadeth and The Hives, so my gig history is kind of fragmented.
My first gig was the Stereophonics back in the day (when they were good, or at least better than they are at the moment), …read more
Best Girl Group Ever? – Adele, Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Katie Melua
March 10, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Adele is a new British singer that I would put money on making it big around the world.
Her début single, Chasing Pavements, is outstanding, and her album 19 went to number one in the British charts last month. But it seems it’s not just solo success that this girl is after.
According to The Sun newspaper, Adele has indicated her desire to be in an all female super group, and the line-up is pretty damn impressive: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Lily Allen & Katie Melua.
Please make it happen, as I think this would be the best girl group ever, …read more
Brit Awards 2008 – Part 3 – Leona Lewis, Foo Fighters, Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys
February 20, 2008 by Dave Parrack
9.00pm – Leona Lewis performs Bleeding Love after a fawning eulogy from Ms Osbourne. She doesn’t put a step wrong, but there’s no excitement, just a purple dress.
9.05pm – Denise Van Outen and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber come on stage to present the award for Best International Group.
Nominations – Kings Of Leon, Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, White Stripes, The Eagles. And the winner is…
Foo Fighters! Who unsurprisingly can’t be there.
Dave Grohl is a top bloke though, so he’s forgiven.
9.08pm – James Nesbitt announces the winner of Best British female.
Nominations – Kate Nash, Bat For Lashes, PJ Harvey, Leona Lewis, …read more
