The Kaiser Chiefs Working On New Album After Hiatus

The Kaiser Chiefs have done little for nearly a year, apart from a few festival appearances. But they’re now back, working together on new material which will inevitably form the basis for a new album. Just don’t rush them, OK.

It was last March that the Kaiser Chiefs decided they were taking a break from writing, recording, and playing music. The rumor at the time was that Ricky Wilson was eager to forge a career in television, although that seems to have erroneous.
However, there was probably some truth to the fact that the band wanted to go on musical hiatus after …read more

We’re now entering not only a new year but a new decade, with the noughties giving way to the tens. So, as we say goodbye to 2009 and welcome in 2010, it’s time to sum up what we listened to over the last decade.

There must have literally thousands of tracks released over the last decade, but there’s only a relatively small amount that make it past the first few listens and enter or collective consciousness.

Kaiser Chiefs Not Splitting – Deny Twitter Claims They Are

We’ve already had one great British band split up this week, so we hardly need another. But fear not Kaiser Chiefs fans, because they aren’t splitting up. Despite what an overeager music journalist may have implied on Twitter. The Kaisers did, however, pay tribute to Oasis over the weekend, the band that have gone their separate ways.

XFM news reporter Sunta Templeton posted messages on Twitter yesterday after interviewing the Kaiser Chiefs at Leeds festival. She claimed this show “could be the end” for them and that there would be no more albums from the band.

Kaiser Chiefs Take A Break – Ricky Wilson Turns His Attentions To Television Instead

Kaiser Chiefs are reportedly taking a sabbatical from writing, recording, and playing their music. What’s more, front man Ricky Wilson could be about to try and break into TV, forging himself a new career on the goggle box.
The reports that Kaiser Chiefs were going to take some time away from being a band have been circulating for a couple of weeks now. The decision has apparently been taken due to their third album, Off With Their Heads, received a lukewarm reception.

Kaiser Chiefs – ‘Never Miss A Beat’ Music Video Review

Kaiser Chiefs – ‘Never Miss A Beat’ Music Video Review

It may have taken the Kaiser Chiefs years to get anywhere in the music business, but now they’re here, they clearly intend to stick around for a while. It’s a good job then that the new material they are producing is living up to the standards they’ve already set.

Kaiser Chiefs are a band who divide people quite drastically. On the one hand, you have people like me who appreciate good music in all its forms, be it pop, indie, metal or hip hop, and so don’t get bogged down worrying about the commercial aspects of an artists work. On the …read more

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher Takes Pop At Winehouse, Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs & More

I’m sure I’m living in some kind of time bubble as I keep experiencing deja vu, again, and again, and again. Just yesterday I reported how Amy Winehouse had hit one of her fans, yes, another one. And now Noel Gallagher has taken a pop at some of his fellow British artists. Didn’t he do that last week, and the week before?

The older Gallagher was being interviewed on BBC Radio One, and was reportedly in a state of drunkenness, when he decided to go to town on a whole host of British singers and groups. This comes just a few …read more

Kaiser Chiefs New Album ‘Off With Their Heads’ | Claim British Indie Is Boring

Kaiser Chiefs have revealed details about their forthcoming album, including the name, track listing, and special guests. But on the same day, they have described the British Indie scene as “very, very boring”. But that doesn’t include them, obviously.

Kaiser Chiefs third studio album is to be called Off With Their Heads, and will be released on October 13th. The follow-up to last year’s Yours Truly, Angry Mob has been produced by Amy Winehouse’ mate Mark Ronson, and will feature guest appearances from a number of high profile artists.
The album release will be preceded by the first single to come from …read more

Kaiser Chiefs Versus Oasis – Ricky Wilson Claims New Album Means They Are Kings

Whenever a band have a new album ready for release, and they’ve been away for a while, it’s almost a guarantee that one of the members will start mouthing off against some other band in an effort to get some free publicity, and their name back on the tips of everyone’s tongue.
Oasis are no strangers to this strategy, being part of the notorious Blur Vs Oasis battle in the 1990s where both Britpop bands laid in to each other and gained chart success partly as a result.
The Gallagher brothers have both got big mouths and use them whenever they …read more

Kaiser Chiefs Making No More Albums? | Following Radiohead With New Formats

In a move which may annoy loyal fans and make anyone else shrug their shoulders, and then get on with their lives, British indie rockers The Kaiser Chiefs have informally announced their decision to stop making albums in favour of new formats.
The Leeds band, who have been one of the most instrumental groups in getting indie back on the map, say they have become bored with traditional cycle within the music industry of releasing an album every two years, and so have decided to break with that.
Drummer Nick Hodgson told the NME recently:
“We mentioned mini-albums and double EPs, but we’ve …read more
