The Enemy Cancel Oasis Show - Because Of Food Or Feud?
June 4, 2009 by Dave Parrack
Today (June 4) sees Oasis play the first of three huge concerts at Heaton Park in Manchester. It’s a bit of a homecoming for the band as the Gallagher brothers are originally from Burnage, just up the road from the venue.
The concerts, which are today, Saturday (June 6) and Sunday (June 7) are all sold-out, with 70,000 fans attending each night. The gigs have been planned for the last six months, with transport links, park and ride schemes, and road closures all organized in advance.

Unfortunately, something has already gone wrong, with The Enemy, one of the two main supports along with Kasabian, pulling out of tonight’s show. The official reason is that lead singer Tom Clarke has contracted serious food poisoning but you do have to wonder if the recent feud between the two bands has anything to do with it.
Tom Clarke gave an interview about the tour, on which The Enemy are scheduled to provide support for each concert, and one of his comments upset the usually-so-calm and mild-mannered Liam Gallagher. He then called Clarke a “little f**ker” in a Twitter rant, forcing Clarke to apologize for any offense caused.
The Enemy Criticise Arctic Monkeys Award Winning Antics - Tom Clarke Is Jealous!
March 7, 2008 by Dave Parrack

The lead singer of The Enemy, Tom Clarke, has carried on his mission to garner publicity from slagging off other groups, and this time he has his eyes on Arctic Monkeys.
Not known for keeping his gob shut, and carrying on in the traditional role of shit slinger that we have come to know him as, Tom Clarke has ripped in to the Arctic Monkeys for being too successful at awards ceremonies.
The Arctic Monkeys have certainly been blessed in the awards department, having won too many to mention since they burst on to the scene a few years back. They recently won three NME Awards as well as a pair of Brit Awards for Best Group and Best Album.

Dirty Pretty Things & The Enemy At Pentonville Prison Video Footage
August 29, 2007 by Dave Parrack
On Monday I reported that The Enemy and Dirty Pretty Things had played a gig live in Pentonville prison to raise awareness of the high incidence of suicides amongst young men.
Here is a YouTube video of part of the acoustic set from Dirty Pretty Things. The sound quality isn’t very good but it’s in a prison so I’m sure you’ll forgive me (and the person who filmed the video!)
Actually only lead singer Carl Barat seems to be doing much, the other band members are just standing around admiring the view (looking bored).
The Enemy & Dirty Pretty Things Play Pentonville Prison Gig To Highlight Suicides
August 27, 2007 by Dave Parrack
The Enemy and Dirty Pretty Things played a live gig in Pentonville prison today to highlight the amount of suicides in British prisons.
Mimicking Country music legend Johnny Cash, the two British Indie bands played a special gig to support ‘Wasted Youth’, a campaign to highlight and reduce the high incidents of suicide among young men.
Dirty Pretty Things front man Carl Barat first played a short acoustic set in the atrium of the prison, before both bands played a full set in the 180 capacity prison chapel.
Barat’s former Libertines band mate Pete Doherty was originally asked to play a part but it was thought his drugs problems might overshadow the important issues at hand.
