The annual Brit Awards are with us again. The ceremony will take place at London’s Earls Court on February 16, but the nominations have now been revealed in order to allow time for the winners to be voted for by you, the great British public.

Lady Gaga, JLS, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott, and Florence & The Machine have all been nominated for three or more awards. Lady Gaga is up in every category she is eligible for, those being the international awards.

Calvin Harris is rapidly becoming the premier dance artist in the U.K. if not the whole world. He started with his debut album I Created Disco, with hit singles such as Acceptable In The 80s and The Girls, and released his second album Ready For The Weekend in August of this year.

Calvin Harris is an acquired taste. I happen to like the slightly retro, slightly awkward music he writes and produces. At least in the main. I wasn’t actually that keen on his last single, I’m Not Alone, but he’s still an artist I respect and admire. Calvin Harris is the Scottish dance artist come record producer who doesn’t seem to be able to put a foot wrong. He burst onto the scene with Acceptable In The 80s and The Girls, joint hits which combined styles superbly.
