Big Brother Twins Sam & Amanda Sign Record Deal | Fighting Pete Doherty For No.1
September 6, 2007 by Dave Parrack
Noooo, say it ain’t so… The pink, annoying twins who almost (but not quite) won Big Brother 8 UK have signed a record deal.
So how much are two untalented nobodies worth you reckon? £10k? £100k? No, apparently they’ve been signed for £1,000,000. Yes, that’s a million squid to you and me, an amount most of us can’t even comprehend.
Despite displaying no talent, and very little of anything else while in the Big Brother house, the identical twins Sam and Amanda Marchant have been signed for a stupidly vast amount of money, and already have their first single lined up and ready for release.
I was hoping it would be a cutesy version of recently deceased Pavarotti’s Nessun Dorma, or The Beatles I Am The Walrus. Either of those would have been to see, but no, call them easy, greedy or downright ridiculous, but they’ve gone down the obvious route and are recording a cover of Barbie Girl by Aqua.
That song was bad enough the first time around, with its appeal severely limited to girls under the age of 10, and now we have to endure it again. And it’s being rush released on September 17th, the same day as Pete Doherty and Babyshambles brilliant comeback single ‘Delivery’.
Identical twin Sam said:-
“I can’t quite believe that we are about to record our first ever single, it’s dead funny!“
A music industry insider meanwhile said:-
“Put your money on the twins. They were top of the pops in the BB house with their singing and dancing and they have the support to storm the charts and bag the cash.“
I can just see how happy Pete is going to be when due to a massive publicity campaign, the thick twins beat him to number 1 in the charts. It’ll be back to rehab for Mr Doherty, or even a spell in an institution, and I’ll go with him.

Now I didn’t watch BB, but from all past experiences no-one who has emerged from that house has had any talent (save perhaps Craig from BB1 who ended up with a DIY program). So, a record deal is possibly the worst news I could imagine after BB being over!
Well… the worst news until it turns out that they are releasing Barbie Girl. If this record goes to number one I swear I will leave this country.
I hope it goes to number one, the girls deserve it after losing out to an idiot on the final.
Phil, I couldn’t agree more, this is bad news if ever I heard it. Please don’t leave the country though, you’re my top commenter
Ross, what are you on about? Brian is a legend, ok he’s a thick legend but a legend none the less.
I really hope this doesn’t beat both Babyshambles and Kate Nash to No.1.
u have made twins so popular im a twin
