Amy Winehouse To Play $1 Million Gig For George Clooney and Julia Roberts?
March 18, 2008 by Dave Parrack

Wow, Amy Winehouse could be about to earn $1 million (approx £500,000) for one gig, after being reportedly offered the amount to play the celebrity party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute in New York on May 5th.
The bash is being organised by fashion designer Giorgio Armani, and he is said to be willing to do anything to secure her services for the party. If that means paying $1 million, then he’s clearly willing to do it.
To this end, he is thought to have asked actor friends George Clooney and Julia Roberts to help sign Winehouse up for the deal, although why two over the hill actors would be enough to persuade her is beyond me.
Armani is thought to be offering such a high pay day as he wishes to use the opportunity to build a relationship with Winehouse for possible future work. An anonymous source is quoted as saying:
“Giorgio has made no secret to his friends that he would love to work with Amy”,
“He sees this party as an ideal opportunity to sound her out about future projects.”
Winehouse is said to be considering the offer, although personally I can’t see her going through with it. Assuming she has even sorted out the Visa problems which prevented her performing at the Grammy Awards, it would still be out of character for her.
Considering the rumours of her being fully back on the drink and drugs, maybe giving her so much money for so little work isn’t a very good idea anyway. I’ll see it when I believe it.

That’s a lot of dough for one night of work. Paul McCartney’s a big fan too. Check out his endorsement of Amy Winehouse for the next Bond film.
