Amy Winehouse At The MOBOs Video | She Attempts To Sing Classic Songs And Bombs

September 22, 2007 by Dave Parrack

Amy Winehouse appeared at The MOBO Awards on Wednesday night (an achievement for her), and even ended up winning the award for Best UK Female. Unfortunately her performance on the night didn’t really live up to the hype, and has been universally derided in the tabloids since.

Not one for just taking these reports at face value, I went searching for it on YouTube, and I thought you could make your own minds up…

It seems for once the newspapers weren’t lying, or just laying in to Amy for the sake of it, that really was dreadful. What’s weird is that she performed at the Mercury Music Prize two weeks ago and blew everyone away with her voice, and commanding display of singing.

Amy sang ‘Tears Dry On Their Own’ and ‘Me & Mr Jones’ and well screwed up royally it has to be said. One reason for her shambling and shambolic performance may be the rider she is rumoured to have asked for on the night which included;

Two bottles of red wine
Two cases of lager
One large bottle of vodka
Two bottles of champagne
Two bottles of Jack Daniels

Ermm, after that little lot I don’t think I’d have been able to sing very well either. I’d have thought I could, but I would in reality have sounded like a strangled chicken. SOBER UP GIRL!
