Amy Winehouse Arrested On Suspicion Of Assault – Police Deem Her Unfit For Interview
April 25, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Yesterday I reported how Amy Winehouse had been accused of assaulting two different men after a night of drink, drugs and debauchery. Now, Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of the crime, and is currently being held in a London police station.
The police asked Winehouse to voluntarily attend an interview at Holborn Police Station today.
She duly arrived, albeit three hours later than expected, at 5.10pm, to be welcomed by a throng of fans, reporters and photographers, who all knew in advance that she’d be coming.
Winehouse arrived wearing a mucky grey skirt, and yellow blouse, and with her trademark beehive haircut in place. She is said to have looked distressed, and was sporting a strange blemish on her face.
Her minders escorted her in to the police station, with her scowling at the crowds. The police then attempted to speak to her before deeming her unfit for interview.
The Telegraph reported a Scotland Yard spokesman as saying:
“A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment. She is currently in custody.”
“The doctor has seen the 24-year old woman and has said that she is not fit to be interviewed. That means that we cannot deal with her for at least four hours and until the doctor has seen her again.”
It wasn’t a good day for Winehouse as her husband Blake Fielder-Civil appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on charges of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. She failed to attend the hearing, adding to the speculation that the marriage is on the rocks.
Police have already warned that should she be found guilty of the assault charges, she could face up to six months in prison. At this stage, maybe it would be a good thing, as it would allow her the chance to get clean. If she carries on as she is, then I fear she’s heading for an early grave… very early.

Good little ditty on this girl, but I guess since nobody else left a comment, I’m going to move on, too.
It is such a shame – I just only yesterday was pleased to see that there was a picture of her looking slightly better – to go through all of this aged only 24 years old is tragic.
Let’s send it out there – get better Amy, and tackle what is happening in your life, or you will lose it altogether.
