Amy Winehouse Wants To Start Own Record Label | Blake Wants £3 Million Divorce Payout
April 30, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Amy Winehouse seems to be in the process of sorting her life out. She’s apparently split with Blake Fielder-Civil, and is looking to start her own record label with alleged new squeeze Alex Haines.
Although the split has yet to be confirmed, reports are already emerging that Fielder-Civil is looking for a £3 million payout in the event of a divorce. She has already spoken to her financial advisers about keeping her fortune safe from Blake, but without a pre-nup (surprise surprise), the chances are he’ll get something out of it.
Amy seems to have already moved on to Alex Haines, her manager’s assistant. And not only are they said to be together, they are making business plans.

Winehouse is currently signed to Island Records, but the deal ends after her next album, whenever it ends up arriving. Rather than signing another deal, Amy is thought to be planning to start her own record label, and signing up friends Tyler James and Remi Nicole in to the bargain.
Island Records are desperate for Winehouse to get clean and finish her third album for them, and they want it to be a classic which makes even more money for them than Back To Black has. Winehouse seems to finally be wising up to the fact that the world is her oyster, and with control of her own destiny, she could make an even bigger fortune than she already has.

April 28, 2008 by Dave Parrack

The full line-up for this year’s Glastonbury Festival is due to be officially announced at midnight on Tuesday April 29th, but has instead been leaked by an eagle-eyed reader.
Someone posted photos on the eFestivals forum supposedly taken from the latest issue of Q magazine, which is due out tomorrow.
We’ve already heard that the headliners on the main stage are due to be Jay-Z (controversially), Kings Of Leon and The Verve, but the rest of the line-up looks even tastier.

Phil Collins Announces His Retirement
April 26, 2008 by Dave Parrack
There I was surfing the b5 Music Channel, when my eye was drawn to a headline on The Rock Relic – Phil Collins QUITS??
Well, I hadn’t heard anything about that, so I read Chuck’s article before tracing the source back to the original story. And yes, it’s true, Phil Collins has announced his retirement from both recording new material and touring old material.
This story hasn’t really been picked up in many places, I suppose because Phil Collins is hardly current or cool, but I still think his retirement deserves a mention. It could also be because Collins was so casual in announcing the news, dropping it in to conversation in an interview with The Times.
Amy Winehouse Arrested On Suspicion Of Assault – Police Deem Her Unfit For Interview
April 25, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Yesterday I reported how Amy Winehouse had been accused of assaulting two different men after a night of drink, drugs and debauchery. Now, Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of the crime, and is currently being held in a London police station.
The police asked Winehouse to voluntarily attend an interview at Holborn Police Station today.
She duly arrived, albeit three hours later than expected, at 5.10pm, to be welcomed by a throng of fans, reporters and photographers, who all knew in advance that she’d be coming.
Winehouse arrived wearing a mucky grey skirt, and yellow blouse, and with her trademark beehive haircut in place. She is said to have looked distressed, and was sporting a strange blemish on her face.
Her minders escorted her in to the police station, with her scowling at the crowds. The police then attempted to speak to her before deeming her unfit for interview.
Amy Winehouse Accused Of Assaulting Men On Night Out In London – Jail Time Possible
April 24, 2008 by Dave Parrack
It seems Amy Winehouse went out on a bender in London on Tuesday, and not content with getting paralytically drunk, or high on drugs, she allegedly assaulted men in not one, but multiple different incidents.
Winehouse is thought to have been out drinking in North London with Babyshambles member Mik Whitnall, probably discussing Pete Doherty’s current incarceration. Amy is now facing arrest after police received at least one allegation of assault, although judging by her activities, more may follow.
First of all, the singer is alleged to have head butted a man trying to help her hail a taxi cab at the end of the night. She is also accused of punching Moroccan musician Mustapha el Mounmi in the face after he reportedly refused to let her play on a snooker table.
When she did finally manage to get a taxi willing to take her home, she is also alleged to have become abusive with the driver. When he got her to her flat, she had lost her keys and money, and so reportedly spent 20 minutes trying to break in. When the driver asked for his fare money, it’s alleged she swore at, and tried to hit him.
Lily Allen Reveals New Songs – New Direction | Writes Song For “Friend” James Corden
April 22, 2008 by Dave Parrack

Lily Allen is currently a very busy woman. Not only is she currently writing and recording tracks for her new album, she is also building as close friendship with actor and comedian James Corden, the star of British sitcom Gavin and Stacey.
After some false starts, the album must now be coming along, as Lily had the confidence to post two new songs for her fans to listn to on her MySpace page last week. They show her heading in a new musical direction, and though I hate to say it, maturing a little in her song writing – which is hardly surprising seeing as how life has bit her on the bum over the last two years.
The attitude is still there, along with the swearing (but then it wouldn’t be Lily without the swearing), but there also seems to be more depth and feeling to it all, which is a real anathema to the Pop, carefree Alright, Still. Her new style remind me very much of Kate Nash, which in my book, is a good thing.
Ivor Novello Songwriting Awards 2008 – Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Klaxons Nominated
April 21, 2008 by Dave Parrack

The Ivor Novello Awards are an annual celebration of the best displays of song writing over the past twelve months. It’s British biased, but also highlights songs from abroad which sold particularly well.
This year’s nominations have been revealed, and there is one woman head and shoulders above the rest. Amy Winehouse has managed to secure three nominations, two of which are in one category. All despite Back To Black, the album that the songs come from, having been out for over two years.
Winehouse has Love is A Losing Game and You Know I’m No Good both up for best song of the year, where she will compete with Ben’s Brother for their top 40 hit Let Me Out.
Rehab, which actually won the award for best contemporary song last year, is up for best selling British song this time around. Winehouse will be competing with Beyonce and Shakira for Beautiful Liar, and Mika’s Grace Kelly.
Madonna Has Thirteenth Chart Number One With ‘4 Minutes’ – Fifth In Overall Rankings
April 20, 2008 by Dave Parrack
Madonna has secured her thirteenth number one record in the UK singles chart with 4 Minutes. Her collaboration with Justin Timberlake, produced by uber hit maker Timbaland, jumped from number 4 (fittingly) to number 1 over the past week.
Not only is this Madonna’s first number one since 2006, when she hit the top spot with Sorry, but it also takes her to fifth in the list of people who have had the most number ones in the UK.
At the moment, Elvis Presley (21 number ones), The Beatles (17), Westlife (14) and Cliff Richard (14) are all ahead of her in the pecking order, but Clliff only puts out a record once every 5 Christmas times, and is about 80 years old. The others are either dead or not recording any more, so the chances of her climbing higher are good.
Madonna’s rise to the top knocks Estelle and Kanye West from their pedestal, where they spent four weeks.
Has Amy Winehouse Split With Her Blake?
April 19, 2008 by Dave Parrack

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil seemed inseparable, sharing everything together, probably including needles and crack pipes, but the days of Winehouse devoting songs to “her Blake” may well be over.
It seems that far from being “her Blake”, Amy Winehouse may have decided she’s better off without the currently incarcerated Fiedler-Civil, and be planning to ditch him – if she hasn’t already.
Speculation is mounting over the state of the pair’s relationship due to the fact that Winehouse has stopped visiting Blake in Pentonville prison, where he is currently awaiting trial on charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
It was 26th birthday on Wednesday, and Winehouse didn’t even go and see him, or send a card. That’s the behaviour of a single woman if ever I saw it, or maybe it was just in response to her record company’s request for her to clean up?
